• SYMPTOMS OF FAULT: Smoke coming from under the bonnet, soot evident under the bonnet, smell of fumes – particularly when sat at idle. MOT failure for fume leak. Hissing sound or sound of gas escaping. Exhaust gas smell within vehicle cabin. Leaking of the manifold can cause further faults such as engine noise, slower turbo response, less torque, decreased fuel economy.
